remember a banshee amp is about the lightest DJ hardtail on the market atm at 4.4lbs, and its aluminium. apart from mine at 3.2lbs anyway lol, but there's no way you'd get away with riding SS on that little beast. i recon you'd lose your headtube real fast.

removable cable guides are zippy-ties. and dont even think about 3.5lbs, thats rediculously light, you'd snap it in half in three days...but if you really want that then it could be done. remember 5lbs is still a really light frame, but strong.
but i like the idea of 24" wheels on a slopestyler, iv been thinkin of makin one for myself for a while.

oh yeah how can you know the top tube length and not know the wheelbase? the "top tube length" means just about nothing in real life, seeing as it is completely dependent on the wheelbase and the seat angle.

ill take some guesswork outta it for ya- you want 1.5" x 0.9mm moly downtube and 1"x.5" x 0.9mm c/s, supertherm 0.9/0.6/0.9 toptube, double butted 27.2 supertherm seat tube, and 19mm oval butted seatstays. this will give you about a 5lb frame. and a fox36 will change your head angle from 70 to 67 degrees straight out.

easy as. ill sort that shit out- i can get 2.5" clearance on 385mm c/s no worries. these are about the only angles that make a difference to a freeride bike, so send me a list of these angles and measurements that you had in mind- c/s length, wheelbase, head angle- and ill tell you if you're on the right track.

yeah thats more the idea. need some chainstay/seatstay bridges on it tho or it'll snap lol. model it with your suspension program and you'll see you also need to change the shock position a little but other than that, good stuff.

im goin away all weekend for the state DH champs, but PM me your email and ill send you my DJ frame file for linkage and you can have a play with that. a linkage bike like you're designing would cost over 1800 for the CNC work and crap.

nah man i, only gonna do a single pivot. thats not even a linkage driven single, thats a four bar.

actually thats a point, feel free to design it yourself on a suspension program like Linkage (if you dont have it, its free) keeping in mind the following-
-its a single pivot, bottom bracket pivoting frame without links
-keep the spring rate neutral to falling rate to avoid pedal bob
-use the longest stroke shock that you can
that way you can just do whatever geo you want, and i dont have to design it

probably best if you leave the design to me unless you can analyse the spring rate and cad a 3d model of it to check out the tire clearance...

yeah could do that for a bare frame, you'd need a triple butted toptube and seat tube for that kinda weight. you realise that the lighter you go the less durable/more flexy it'll become. but the tradeoff is that it'll be easier to trick.

erm...there is no linkages on it...its a singlepivot. but yeah not a worry. i gotta make some more anyways!
ill make it super cheap for ya cause i just wanna pump some more out.

So does mine.. Whenever I'm listening to music my dog just wonders up and sits next to me.
